Beaches in Aarhus
Aarhus has beautiful nature and that includes its beaches. There are two special beaches in Aarhus that we would like to suggest you to visit during the summer when the weather allows for people to gather and have fun together.
Den Permanente Beach
You can take the bike from Aarhus center to get to the lovely sandy beach Den Permanente. Den permanente is a public outdoor swimming bath placed at the beach of Riis Skov (Forest) and you can find toilets, kiosks and changing rooms there. Here you can take a stroll on the beach-side as well as in the forest with a great view over the sea.
In the summertime it is very popular and crowded. Young people are found playing beach volley and other games on the beach. During the summer period there will be lifeguards at the beach. Beware that the beach has some tradition for nude bathing.
How to get to Den Permanente Beach:
By bus: Routes 1, 6, 8, 16, 56 or 58.
By train (to Grenaa) It has a stop there.
Salonvejen 1, 8240 Risskov
About approx. 4,7 km away from Aarhus center to the south, you can find a public beach called Ballehage beach. In the summertime is it a great place for swimming and relaxing under the sun. There are changing rooms and toilets. Here you can take a stroll in the beach to collect some shells.
